Can this show where a photo was taken?

No. This tool does not decode EXIF location or camera fields.

What is an aspect ratio?

It describes the relationship between width and height, such as 16:9 or 1:1.

Why might the file type be blank?

Some local files do not provide a MIME type to the browser. The filename extension can still offer a useful clue.
